I've been busy sewing for my trip next weekend.
First I made a toiletries bag (such an ugly word) to go with my new make-up pouch.

I also wanted a new ID purse thingy, I've been using that a lot! And since I'm off to England again next weekend I decided I also need a coin purse to keep my pounds in :)

Front and reverse sides.

I've made a Flickr account as well but I can't figure out how to blog more than one photo, so it hasn't been of much use to me yet! If any of you know how to blog bulk photo's via Flickr please let me know!

Make-Up Pouch {and the unfortunate peanutbutter incident}

So, a while back my make-up pouch and I got involved in an unfortunate peanutbutter incident. I'll spare you the gruesome details but the poor pouch could not be saved. Ever since my make-up has lived in the plastic ziplock-bag you need to put your liquids in at the airport. They filed many complaints untill today I just couldn't ignore their pleas anymore and decided to give them more fitting accomodation.

Plus the fabric for my borders arrived today so after this little diversion it's back to stitching those last blocks and putting my quilt top together.

Have a nice day!

Orange Fever

I'm not really into football myself but it's hard to miss...the world championships have kicked off.
Thought I'd just give you all a look at what my street looks like these days.

{just so you know...this is not my house!}

I much more prefer this view of my street.

For those of you who watch, enjoy! May the best team win.

I'll be stitching in my garden :-)

Have a nice weekend!

Somewhere where the orchids grow.

Slowly but surely I'm finishing blocks on my quilt.

I've really gotten into the combination of patchwork, embroidery and applique. It's quite addictive!

For 'somewhere where the orchids grow' I was inspired by Rosalie Quinlan, I've used a lot of her'grandmother's flower garden' fabric and Leanne Beasley (who happens to have the same surname as me!)

Somewhere where the orchids grow is my twist on making a memory quilt I suppose.
I've themed each block, sorta kinda. And I've used phrases, parts of lyrics, film books etc. that have a meaning to me but are not always obviously clear to others.

I'd better get back to stitching some more!

Thanks for stopping by.

I'm playing around with the look of my blog a bit...thanks for your patience!

~Favorite Quotes~

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be?"
–Marianne Williamson

I hope you're having a lovely weekend!

Green Bag Lady

A while ago I posted about winning the 'take one make one' give away hosted by Green Bag Lady
And yesterday my parcel arrived look!

It's red and it has tulips how appropriate for a dutch girl like me :-)

I also received lovely organic fabric to make another bag to give away. So I just had to put all other projects aside and make it immediatly!

And since mine had a Green Bag Lady label I had to make one for the other bag as well.

I'm thinking about just giving it randomly to someone on the street or at the supermarket...what do you think?

Enjoy your day!
