Have you started your Christmas sewing yet?
It suddenly hit me, there's only five weeks left and I have no idea what to make!!
So I convinced myself I might as well start with some selfish sewing... you know one thing would surely lead to another... inspiration will strike if only I keep myself busy. Well at least that is what I keep telling myself ;)

I made this make up pouch based on Ayumi's pencil case tutorial. The dimensions are different and I used bias binding, but the overall idea is the same.
I love how spacious this little pouch is it makes it so much easier to rummage through and find that right shade of lipstick!
I think I will have to make a few more of these, as Christmas presents this time!

ReplyDeleteso cute ! congrats
ReplyDeleteI love the combination of the colors! It's like a collection of references to different fabrics (I especially love the 'reference' to Melody Miller!).
ReplyDeleteSo cute!! And the fabrics you have choose for this project are perfect :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Leila! Love the scrappy look and the fabrics you picked - yummy lining too!!
ReplyDeleteHi! That is so beautiful! I shall try this!

ReplyDeleteThis is darling - really need to try this zip technique!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute. I might need to make some too
ReplyDeleteWell, sounds like your approach worked. Now you know what to make! I just pulled fabrics for a gift quilt for my mom. Yes, it's definitely time to start!
ReplyDeletebeautiful! Now I need to make one pouch just like yours ASAP!!!
ReplyDeleteI have made this pouch from pink penguin blogspot it was lovely to make, I keep my marking pencil and other quilting things altogether in one place so I don't loose them.
ReplyDeleteYours looks lovely well done.
So pretty! I esp love your binding :)
ReplyDeleteErm, no, it's, like, months away, right? ;o) Love the wee pouch though!
ReplyDelete"If in doubt, make something for yourself", I need that as a tattoo!
ReplyDeleteThat's really lovely, and I'm sadly the same - no idea what I'm making yet!
ReplyDeletemmmm, totally love this leila. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, Leila! You've done it again! Absolutely marvelous "do" on this sweet little pouch! Can you please, please tell us a tiny bit about the order you did it in? I mean, did you sew the zipper and binding on at once, and then flip the binding to the inside and hand finish, or what? Somehow I've fallen in love with the way a bag looks with binding on the top edge, but the only way I know to do it is to put the binding on normally, finishing one side by hand, and then to hand sew the zipper. That's fine, but it's certainly time-consuming, at least for me. Would love to hear if you have a different way to do it! Thanks for sharing your creative works with us!
ReplyDeleteyeah, remember last year when i said i was going to start my christmas sewing in april... yeah, that didn't happen! ;) xo this is an adorable pouch and i am totally in love with it! the fabric is perfection!!
ReplyDeleteCute - I say when in doubt make a pouch/coin purse/whatever. I then put perfume/sweets/coins/vouchers, etc., inside and there is a small and personal gift. Works well for everyone.
ReplyDeleteyou did an amazing job on this, Leila. this makes me want to bind something!
